Westrock Development was founded in 2001 by Robert Friedland who is also the founder of Friedland Realty Inc., and is also the Chairman of Shleppers Moving & Storage. Over the last thirty years, Friedland Realty has become the largest independently-owned commercial real estate brokerage firm in the Bronx and Westchester.

While running the brokerage operation of Friedland Realty, Mr. Friedland also invested personally in commercial real estate, often putting together syndications and other joint ventures. His focus was value-added investments, which often included various levels of re-development and re-marketing, allowing each property to realize its full intrinsic value. Over the course of 25 years, Mr. Friedland accumulated substantial holdings in the New York Tri-State area and these holdings were the foundation of Westrock Development.

Today, Westrock Development comprises a team of professionals with many years of experience in the brokerage, development, management and construction industries. Westrock Development is run on a day-to-day basis by Jason Friedland. Its properties total approximately 1 million square feet and range from Butler-style industrial buildings to urban retail properties to beautiful suburban shopping centers.
